5 Tips for Women Having A Baby

When you find out you are pregnant there is a lot that goes through your mind, luckily man women having a baby know others who have been there before.

Being one of those women I would like to offer some tips on ways I found to enjoy my pregnancy and make it easier on me and the baby.

So, for all you women having a baby, listen up!

Number 1- Relax, fatigue is a very common and tiring (yawn!) symptom of pregnancy. However there is a reason for it, firstly your body and the baby's are hard at work in there, always moving, growing, etc. Secondly, get as much sleep now, because later you won't get much sleep at all. The latest in pregnancy you get the more uncomfortable you are and after the baby is born we often have to take care of night time feedings.

Number 2- Stretch, stretching and walking are two very relaxing and exercising activities that will help a lot during pregnancy. You will have time to yourself to think (you lose a lot of time to yourself after birth), and you will be conditioning your body to make labor easier, maybe delivery to.

Number 3- Don't Stress- Some studies have concluded that stress can actually cause miscarriages, but there is more too. Although you may not have a miscarriage because of stress, stress reduces how well you digest your food. So all those nutrients and vitamins may not get digested into your blood stream. And being that you are trying to grow another person it is very important you get all the nutrients you should. Stress is not worth it for you or the baby.

Number 4- Get Health Care- Having someone there you can ask questions is a great help. It is also important that you have someone who is an expert in the field of pregnancy to help you with all concerns you have about birth. Personally, I recommend having both a mid-wife and a doula. Midwives are specifically trained to help the mom and baby through birth, they take into account your safety as well as your comfort. A doula helps you through your pregnancy, delivery and after you go home with the baby. Primarily they are there to give you information, and to help you with different techniques through your birthing experience. Obstetricians are a great place to go to if you have a high risk pregnancy, but otherwise midwives are probably best. With the growing number of mother and infant deaths in our country, it is very important to get the best care for you and your baby, that does not always mean the most technological care.

Number 5- Meditate- Taking time to yourself to focus just on you and the baby will increase your awareness of your own body while you are giving birth. Being able to connect with your baby will help you to know when it is right for you to push, as well as give you time to focus on just your baby, and nothing that may stress you.

Please share these tips with any women having a baby that you know.
