Portable cribs

Portable cribs are built to be easy to carry and often are sold with their own carrying case. Portable cribs are wonderful as you can take them anywhere you need to go and your baby will still have his or her own place to sleep in comfort. If you have travel crib you are going to need some portable crib bedding  to go with it. Especailly with infants you don't want to just throw a blanket or quilt in the crib because of the real possibility of soffaction. Most vendors of travel cribs also sell portable crib bedding. Remember to get extra sets because of your baby leaking out of his or her diapers and babies also spit up a lot.

For babies on the go, portable cribs are becoming increasingly popular. For many new parents, play seats or baby activity centers, swings, and play yards and portable cribs are lower on the priority list. Most portable cribs are rectangular and have sturdy metal or plastic frames, firm mattresses covered with padding, and fabric sides with mesh panels. Because portable cribs are designed to fold up for travel, you’ll find lots of hinges. Many travel cots/portable cribs are also designed to be used as playpens or playards and have high, meshed sides.

Ultimately, portable cribs are not intended to take the place of regular cribs. Some portable cribs are also referred to as playpens. Change "table"/bassinet option in some portable cribs are a nice feature with newborns.

Baby

Even though the typical use of a playpen is to confine the baby while you're busy, don't leave him alone there. Whether he's inside or out, your baby could crawl or roll into the pocket that forms when the side is down and suffocate. Keep in mind that portable cribs are not subject to the same intense federal scrutiny as full-sized permanent cribs.

Always keep your baby in your sight,. Don't put in boxes or other items that a shorter baby could stand on to make an escape. Open-top models allow for easy entry and access to the baby. Look for tightly woven mesh, so small fingers or buttons on baby clothing can't get caught.

Again, If you plan to spend some time on the road with your baby, having a portable crib can be a big help. You can protect your baby from the sun, wind and bugs during outdoor use also, but these beds are really very comfortable for night time sleeping.

Travel Crib

A travel crib can be a great baby product for new parents to have. In addition to being used as a standard crib and playpen by older infants, many include a full size bassinet for newborns and infants that weight less than 15 pounds. They are also lightweight, compact, and easy to transport from one room to another in your home.

Portable Play Yards

Portable playards look very similar to travel cribs, including often having a bassinet. However, keep in mind that they don't meet the same safety standards as a real travel crib and your baby should not be left sleeping in a playard unsupervised.

We have nine children and have had portable crib for each one. This is one item we never went without. It came in extremely handy in so many situations. So weather you call it a portable crib, travel crib or a play yard you need one.
